Embroideries are carefully framed using acid-free mounting materials with glass lifted off the surface of the embroidery. 5x7 frame is silver leaf (or gold tone for embroideries with gold thread), depending on availability. Embroideries may be easily transferred to your own frame if desired. As with any fine embroidery, your heirloom should be displayed out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.
